This week, The Noth­ing With­in was rec­og­nized as a final­ist for the 22nd annu­al Fore­word INDIES Book of the Year Awards. You can see the nom­i­na­tion on the Sci­ence Fic­tion cat­e­go­ry page.

Fore­word Mag­a­zine, found­ed in 1998, is the pub­lish­er of the only review jour­nal devot­ed exclu­sive­ly to inde­pen­dent pub­lish­ing: Fore­word Reviews. Its mis­sion is to share the best books from uni­ver­si­ty and inde­pen­dent publishers.

For this year’s awards there were over 2,000 nom­i­nees across numer­ous gen­res, and final­ists were select­ed by Fore­word’s edi­to­r­i­al team. “To stand out among so many won­der­ful sub­mis­sions, a book has to be excep­tion­al,” says Man­ag­ing Edi­tor, Michelle Anne Schin­gler. “We’re proud to attach our names to each and every book select­ed as a final­ist, and we’re eager to learn how the judges received these extra­or­di­nary picks.”

What’s next

Win­ners will be select­ed by an expert team of book­sellers and librar­i­ans rep­re­sent­ing Foreword’s read­er­ship from across the country.

Fore­word will announce win­ners in each genre—along with Editor’s Choice Prize win­ners and Foreword’s INDIE Pub­lish­er of the Year—on June 17, 2020.
