The first draft of my second novel is done.

If The Nothing Within was rural-dystopian post-apocalyptic fantasy-like science fiction, this new story is Midwestern mystery-like science fiction with a dash of hardboiled metaphysics.

The story concerns a Harmony “Bibi” Cain, a retired detective and secret empath who’s reluctantly drawn into one last case.

Over the last few years, a lot of people have been thinking about polarization’s rise and empathy’s decline. This book is what happened when I thought about that.

Right now the manuscript’s with my first round of awesome beta readers. After that, it’ll go to my awesome editor, and then to more equally-awesome beta readers. That means it’ll be a while before the book is available—but I’ll kick it out of the house as soon as I reasonably can.

The website doesn’t say much yet, but I’m linking to it here because that’s what websites are for.
